Why Dog Owners Will Love Calling St. Petersburg's Historic Kenwood Home

Why Dog Owners Will Love Calling Historic Kenwood Home

Close to Downtown St Pete, Historic Kenwood is a great place to call home, especially if you’re a dog owner. The neighborhood is known for its Craftsman-style bungalows and its tree-lined streets, with plenty of shade that makes it easy for humans and their four-legged family members to go for a stroll. However, that’s certainly not the only advantage of living in Historic Kenwood.

Kenwood Dog Park

The Kenwood Dog Park, in particular, supplies space designed specifically for both small and large dogs. This well-maintained park on 20th Street also offers plenty of shade, plus some benches and picnic tables for dog owners to use.

The Dog Bar

St Pete is home to several coffeeshops and even some bars that allow dogs inside, but there’s actually a dog bar that sits within walking distance of many of the homes of Historic Kenwood. Appropriated named ‘The Dog Bar’ the site describes itself as a full service bar and off-leash dog park.

You have to have a membership for your dog, but once inside the location offers a large space for your dog to run around, plus dozens of different brews and cocktails for you. The site also has several TVs and an off-leash game room.

Seminole Park

Seminole Park isn’t large in size, but the neighborhood park is a great place to take your dog for a walk. Found right in the Historic Kenwood neighborhood, the park is a popular community gathering space, and the site of several local gatherings throughout the year.
